This Privacy Policy explains how ParseApi.dev ("ParseApi", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our service at parseapi.dev and app.parseapi.dev.

Information We Collect

Account information

When you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive:

  • Your name and email address from the OAuth provider
  • Your profile avatar URL
  • A unique identifier from the OAuth provider

We do not receive your OAuth password. We do not store payment card details — those are handled by Stripe.

Documents you upload

When you upload documents to a folder, those files are stored on Cloudflare R2 (an S3-compatible storage service). Documents are retained for 30 days by default; you can configure a shorter or longer retention period per folder.

Your documents are sent to an AI provider (such as Anthropic Claude or OpenAI) for data extraction. By uploading documents, you consent to their contents being processed by these third-party AI services. Do not upload documents containing sensitive personal data unless you have appropriate authorization to do so.

Usage data

We collect basic usage metrics (pages processed, API calls made) for billing and service operation. We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-respecting tool that does not use cookies and does not share data with advertising networks.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the ParseApi service
  • Process your document extraction requests
  • Send account-related notifications (password reset, usage alerts)
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Bill you via Stripe for paid plan usage

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your documents or extraction results to train AI models.

Data Retention

  • Account data: retained until you delete your account
  • Documents and extraction results: retained per folder retention settings (default 30 days); deleted immediately when you manually delete them
  • Payment records: retained as required by applicable law (typically 7 years)

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export your extraction data in JSON format at any time via the API

Data Security

We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS for all data in transit, at-rest encryption for stored documents via Cloudflare R2, and hashed API keys (never stored in plaintext). Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel.

Third-Party Services

We rely on the following sub-processors:

  • Cloudflare R2 — document storage
  • Render.com — application hosting
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Anthropic / OpenAI / Google — AI document extraction (your document contents are sent to these services)
  • Resend — transactional email delivery

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a notice on the service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
